Simply the finest interconnect to link the elements of your sound system.
For the love of music: our design philosophy.
An audio signal, physically, is simply a series of harmonics: sound waves your brain combines together to form sound.
The lowest harmonic in a set of sound waves, known as the "fundamental," provides the holistic sound with its strongest audible pitch. The rest are nevertheless imperative, of course — they are what combine with the fundamental to make the complete sound you hear.
Harmonics at the highest frequencies are most susceptible to phase disturbance, where a poorly-designed interconnect causes their dissociation from the fundamental. This dissociation typically takes the form of a timing delay. Even the slightest alteration of a harmonic's phase impairs the human brain's ability to properly connect it with the fundamental. The harmonic and fundamental are no longer properly time-aligned together, leading to a sound that is smeared, muffled, or shrill.
The better an interconnect can preserve the crucial link between a fundamental and its harmonics, the less the genuineness of that sound is affected, meaning what you hear sounds more natural.
Our design philosophy for Centurion focused on crafting an interconnect capable of passing perfectly-timed, natural sound. Sound that takes on a soothing quality, allows the soundstage to instantly become more familiar, and most importantly, is kept as close as possible to what the artist intended.
The finest materials for the most demanding enthusiast.
Centurion's signal conductor is made from 99.9% pure fine silver, the world's most conductive naturally occurring metal. Compared to conductors made from copper or gold, silver's properties of increased conductivity and lower resistance provide the most uninhibited path for the signal handoff — from source to Centurion, and from Centurion to output — to occur.
A balancing act, perfectly balanced.
Structurally, an interconnect is a balancing act: adding enough shielding against outside interference while minimizing the amount of extra material to keep the signal as pure as possible. Too much shielding introduces the possibility of resistance caused by the shield itself, compromising the interconnect's ability to pass through sound in the exact state it was sent. Too little, and the sound traveling along the interconnect is exposed to noise, such as radio frequency (RF) pollution and electro-magnetic interference (EMI). Even the slightest bit of noise means the subtle details of your music — the very details your audiophile system is designed to reproduce — are dulled or destroyed.
Centurion's Veil four-layer shielding technology uses a combination of aluminium and braided silver to create a striking balance — preserving sound quality along the interconnect while ensuring noise distortion does not affect it.
As noise interference meets Centurion, it is absorbed by Veil, which provides a lowest-impedance path to discharge the energy to Centurion's ground. The inner wire, carrying the original audio signal, is never disturbed.
Lock in pure sound.
Centurion's connectors use a locking mechanism to create a secure bond in the connection between Centurion and the socket. This not only ensures the interconnect has the most contact with the socket — it also greatly improves ground performance.
Centurion's ground flanges — the critical connection points that prevent ground loops — are held under a constant level of pressure by the locking mechanism, guaranteeing linear complete distortion discharge.
